ILION - Nancy A. Piper, age 45, of Spinnerville Gulf Rd., Ilion, passed away on Thursday, August 30, 2012, at home, with her family by her side. She was born on February 17, 1967, in Herkimer, the daughter of Dale and Laura (Ferguson) Piper, and graduated from Mohawk High School and Cobleskill College. Nancy was employed as a line leader at La Salle Labs, Little Falls. She later worked as a machinist at Remington Arms Co., until 2011. Survivors include her mother, Laura Piper, of Ilion; her father, Dale Piper, of Rochester; her son, Cole Zink, and his father, Scott Zink; her sisters, Janet Kipper and Michael Giacovelli, of Canastota, and Tammy Johnson and her husband, Nelson, of Ilion; her brothers, John Piper and wife, Julie, of Advance, NC, Darryl Piper and Theresa Miner, of Ilion, and Scott Piper, of Buffalo; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her grandparents. Funeral services will be held 12:30 p.m., Sunday, September 2, 2012, at the Applegate-Day & Enea Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Rd., Ilion, with Rev. Robert Wollaber officiating. Calling hours are Sunday, September 2, 2012, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. prior to the funeral home service.
