Obituary of Clark L. Dagenkolb

Richfield Springs: Mr. Clark L. Dagenkolb, 91, of Prey Hill Road, Town of Columbia, passed away on Monday, September 10, 2012 in Bassett Healthcare, Cooperstown, surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Dagenkolb was born on November 4, 1920 in the town of Ohio, a son of the late Sidney and Alice (Whaley) Dagenkolb. He has been a lifelong area resident, and has lived in Richfield Springs for the past 25 years. He received his education in Ilion schools; after graduation, he attended Morrisville College. Clark and Ellen Dievendorf were married on May 13, 1944 in Colorado Springs, sharing a loving union of over 68 years. Mr. Dagenkolb was a member of the United States Army - Air Force, enlisting in 1942, and served his country during World War II in the European Theater, Italy. His last employment was with Skinner and Damulis in Richfield Springs. Before that, he worked for the Coxsackie-Ravena School System and GLF (Agway). Clark was a faithful member of the Jesus Never Fails Community Church in North Columbia, and served as Deacon and Church Trustee. He was a member of the Army Air Forces Aid Society. He is survived by his loving wife, Ellen; daughters, Diana Brockelbank of Ilion, the Reverend Nancy Araujo and her husband Marco of Earlville, Debra Payne and her husband Kenneth of Wappingers Falls, and Kristi Johnston and her husband Donald of Mansfield, MA; eleven grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren; a special nephew, Guy Dagenkold and his wife Connie of Virginia; along with several nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws. Clark was predeceased by his parents, Sidney and Alice, and a brother, Mortimer Dagenkolb. Mr. Dagenkolb's funeral service will be conducted by his daughter, the Reverend Nancy Araujo, and the Reverend Hans Drews at 5:00 P.M. on Saturday, October 6, 2012 in the Jesus Never Fails Community Church, N.
