ILION - Gerald "Jerry" L. Gage, age 83, of Tucker Ave., Ilion, passed away on Tuesday, September 25, 2012, at the Presbyterian Home, New Hartford, NY. He was born on July 25, 1929, in Holland Patent, NY, the son of Dayton L. and Vera (Abeel) Gage. Jerry graduated from West Canada Central School and attended Utica College. In 1956, he was married to Doris J. Wilcox. She died in 1995. Jerry later married Kathleen Denison on May 11, 1996. Mr. Gage was employed as a salesman in industrial sales-electric motor rewind at Mather, Evans & Diehl, Utica, for twenty-two years. He also worked at Mohawk LTD and M&L Electric. Jerry was an avid gardener, reader and sports fan (football, basketball and golf). Mr. Gage was a member of Mohawk Valley Square Dance Club and Mohigan Round Dancers. Survivors include his wife, Kathleen; his daughters, Lorie Gage Richards and her husband, Tom, of Murray, UT, and Theresa Gage, of Dallas, TX; his brother, Charles E. Gage and his wife, Joyce, of Norway; his grandchildren, Alia and Ian Richards; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by two sisters, Vivian Gage and Isabel Farber, and his brother, Herbert Gage. Funeral services will be held 12 noon, Saturday, September 29, 2012, at the Applegate-Day & Enea Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Rd., Ilion (old Main St. between Ilion and Frankfort), with Deacon James Bower officiating. Burial will be in Armory Hill Cemetery, Ilion. Visitation will be Saturday, September 29, 2012, from 10:30 a.m. to 12 noon prior to the funeral home service.
