Obituary of Daniel Pazzanese

LITTLE FALLS: Daniel M. Pazzanese, age 83, a Little Falls resident of 42 years, passed away on Sunday, October 7, 2012 at Little Falls Hospital with the love and support of his family. He was born in Marlboro, MA on April 8, 1929, the son of the late Francesco and Angelina (Scorzelli) Pazzanese. He was a graduate of Marlboro High School and the University of St. Francis in Loretto, PA with a Bachelors Degree in Business. He then enlisted and was honorably discharged in the United States Army and served during the Korean Conflict in Trieste, Italy. Dan was united in marriage on November 26, 1955 to Ruth Manning at Immaculate Conception Church in Marlboro, MA, sharing 56 years of love, companionship and mutual respect. Dan came to Little Falls working as a plant manager for Salada Foods and for the past 37 years he was the owner and operator of Ann Street Liquors along with his wife Ruth. He was extremely motivated and instrumental in the growth of the City of Little Falls and worked for over 10 years as the Director of Urban Renewal for the city. Dan held memberships with the Little Falls Elk's Lodge, Decarlo Staffo Post, the American Legion of Little Falls, the Polish Community Home, the Little Falls Golf Course and Holy Family Parish. A genuine kind, gentle and easy-going man, Dan enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. His favorite pastime was golfing; always working to "perfect his swing". He is survived by his beloved wife, Ruth of Little Falls; his sons, Daniel Pazzanese and wife Cheryl of Tewksbury, MA, Stephen Pazzanese and wife Shelly of Little Falls; his daughters, Ellen Fiorentino and husband Carlo and Elizabeth Tracy and companion Douglas Wein all of Little Falls; his cherished grandchildren, Michael and Kristopher Pazzanese and Meghan Tracy; a sister, Ann Lucci of Yarmouth, MA and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by a sister, Emmy Maslowski and a brother, John Pazzanese. In lieu of floral arrangements, memorial contributions may be made in Dan's memory to Holy Family Parish, Little Falls or the City of Little Falls Municipal Golf Course. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 24 W. Monroe Street, Little Falls (315) 823-2424, from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 10, 2012. His funeral service will commence on Thursday, October 11, 2012 at 10:15 a.m. from the funeral home and at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Family Parish, corner of John /E. Main Sts. Little Falls, where his Funeral Mass will be celebrated by Father Thomas Lawless, Pastor. Procession will then follow to St. Mary's Cemetery, Town of Herkimer, where he will be laid to rest. The Little Falls American Legion and Decarlo Staffo Posts will gather at the funeral home at 6 p.m. on Wednesday evening for services and the Little Falls Elk's Lodge will gather at 6:30 p.m. for their memorial service. The family is being cared for by Harry J. Enea, Funeral Director.
