Obituary of Peter Valent

FRANKFORT: Peter S. Valent, age 72, a long time Frankfort resident, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, October 21, 2012 at his home. Born in Ilion, NY on May 24, 1940, Pete was the son of the late Joseph T. and Rose S. (Sarmie) Valent. He was a graduate of Frankfort High School and worked for many years at Orion Bus Industries of Oriskany as a purchasing agent. Pete was an avid golfer, participating in many golf leagues and enjoyed the hobby of classic cars. He was a member of Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church. He is survived by his beloved family; a brother, Henry (Hank) Valent and wife Phyllis of Frankfort; a sister, AnnMarie (Cookie) Lebert and husband Paul (Butch) of Frankfort; a niece, Shannon Partenza and husband Brandon; nephews, JJ Valent and wife Andrea, Mark Valent and wife Lauri, Paul Lebert and wife Kassi and Joseph Lebert; several great nieces, great nephews and cousins. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Rd., (Town of Frankfort) Ilion, NY (315)894-8000 on Tuesday, October 23, 2012 from 5-7 p.m. Pete's funeral will commence on Wednesday, October 24, 2012 at 1:15 p.m. from the funeral home where prayer will be offered and at 2:00 p.m. from Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church, Frankfort Street, Frankfort where his Funeral Mass will be celebrated by the Very Reverend Anthony Barratt, assisted by Deacon James Bower. Burial will take place privately at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Those wishing to express an act of kindness may make a donation to the Frankfort Volunteer Fire Department. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Arrangements have been entrusted to Harry J. Enea, Jr., Funeral Director.
