Obituary of Josephine Netti

HERKIMER: Mrs. Josephine Netti, age 82, a lifelong Herkimer and Little Falls resident, passed away on Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare with the love and support of her family. Josephine was born in Little Falls, NY on May 4, 1930, the daughter of the late Theodore and Pasquelina (Brienza) Ciano. She was educated in Little Falls Schools, and on June 12, 1948 she married Nicholas R. Netti at St. Joseph's Church in Little Falls, with whom she shared 64 years of happiness and unconditional love before his passing on July 17, 2012. Josephine spent more than 25 years working at Yetty's, making the bread, rolls and pizza shells with the same pride and love as when baking them for her own family. As the backbone of the family, Josephine was devoted to taking care of her husband, children and grandchildren. She enjoyed the simple pleasures of looking after her home, tending to her flower garden, cooking and baking. Sunday dinners were special to her. She loved being with her family every Sunday for pasta and meatballs. She will be missed by her beloved cat, Jackie, whom she adored. Josephine was a member of Sts. Anthony and Joseph Parish. Josephine is survived by her beloved family; her sons, Theodore Netti of California, Nicholas J. Netti and wife Cheryl of Herkimer, and Salvatore Netti and wife Katy of Herkimer; her daughters, Barbara Netti of Herkimer, Felicia Netti of Mohawk, and Sylvia Lowell and husband Scott of Herkimer; her cherished grandchildren, Theodore Tuzzolino and wife Verenice, Danica and Nicholas A. Netti, Josephine Busack, Robert Hollum, Karlene and Robert Lowell, Gianna, Daniel and Katerina Netti; a great grandson, Lee Ramon Tuzzolino; her sisters, Sue Crimmins of Herkimer and Margaret Courtney of California; her in-laws, Frank Netti of Herkimer, Vito and Mary Losito of Herkimer, Claude and Rita Orcutt of Herkimer, and Effie Netti of Herkimer; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, Patsy, Lawrence and Rocco Ciano, and her sisters, Felicia Kuhn, Antonetta Russin and Rose Ciano. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 26, 2012 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 220 N. Washington Street, Herkimer, NY. Her funeral service will commence at 8:45 a.m. on Saturday, October 27, 2012, from the chapel of the funeral home where a prayer service will take place, and at 9:30 a.m. from Sts. Anthony and Joseph Church, S. Main Street, Herkimer, NY where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Herkimer, where she will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband, Nick. The family is being cared for by Harry J. Enea, Jr., Funeral Director.
