Obituary of Nicholas Foti

HERKIMER: Nicholas (Nick) Foti, age 63, a longtime Herkimer resident, passed away on Thursday, October 25, 2012 at St. Elizabeth's Medical Center, with the love and support of his family. Nick was born in Herkimer, NY on December 3, 1948, the son of Hilda (Gregory) Foti and the late Vincent Foti. He was a 8th grade graduate of St. Francis de Sales School and a graduate of Herkimer High School. He then continued his education and received a 2 year degree from Albany Business School. Nick worked locally as a police officer for the Ilion Police Department and then relocated to Florida, living there for over 21 years. He worked in Florida at Wackenhut Security as a security guard. Nick cherished his family and grandsons and other than his family, his passion was following the New York Yankees. Nick was a member of St. Francis de Sales Parish of Herkimer. He is survived by his beloved family; his mother, Hilda Foti of Herkimer; his son, Jason Foti and wife Jennifer of Coral Springs, FL; his sisters, Nadine Benedict and husband Marty of Herkimer and Denise McMillan of Boca Raton, FL; his grandsons, Jack and James Foti; nieces, Danielle McMillan and Lindsey Benedict; a great nephew, Chase Benedict and several aunts, uncles and cousins. The family will receive friends and relatives at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 220 N. Washington Street, Herkimer, NY (315)866-1011 on Sunday, October 28, 2012 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. Nick's funeral service will take place on Monday, October 29, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the chapel of the funeral home. Procession will then follow to Calvary Cemetery, Herkimer, where Nick will be laid to rest. The family is being cared for by Harry J. Enea, Jr., Funeral Director.
