Obituary of Patrick M. Rooke
Herkimer: Mr. Patrick M. Rooke, 62, of Charles Street, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, October 26, 2012. Patrick has been courageously battling several heath issues recently and, sadly, has succumbed to them.
He was born on January 2, 1950, a son of the late Harry and Anne M. (Tumonis) Rooke. Patrick was educated in Ilion schools, graduating with the Class of 1968. He went on to receive a Bachelor of Science Degree at Oneonta State University, and then in 1993, he attained an Associate Applied Science Degree from Herkimer County Community College. Patrick was employed with PAR Technology in New Hartford and Herkimer High School.
Patrick married the former Ann Marie DeCeglie in St. Anthony's Church on October 15, 1976, and they recently celebrated 36 years of a devoted and loving marriage.
He leaves behind his beloved wife, Ann Marie; devoted children, Michael Rooke and his wife Jennifer Blincoe of Harpursville, NY, Christopher Rooke and his wife Audrie of Frankfort; and his adored grandchildren, Dante~ and Cali. Also surviving are his brothers and sisters, Raymond and his wife Diane of Syracuse, Kathy Rooke of Florida, Edward and Lori, also of Syracuse, and Marion Dell and her husband Homer of Key West, FL; his mother-in-law, Alfonza DeCeglie of Herkimer; in-laws, Paul DeCeglie, Jr. and his wife Mary Ellen of Ilion, and Lorraine Tesoriere and her husband Joseph of Saratoga; along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Patrick was a faithful member of Sts. Anthony & Joseph Church and the Herkimer Polish Community Club.
Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects on Monday, October 29, 2012 from 5-8 pm at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 220 N. Washington Street, Herkimer (866-1011). Patrick's funeral will commence with prayer at 9 am at the funeral home on Tuesday, October 30, followed by his funeral mass celebrated by the Reverend Thomas Lawless at 9:30 am in Sts. Anthony & Joseph Church, S. Main Street. Procession will follow to St. Mary's Cemetery, town of Herkimer, where he will be laid to rest.
