Obituary of Dorothy Ann Rzepka

Ilion: Mrs. Dorothy Ann Rzepka, of Tulip Drive, beloved wife of Donald, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday morning, December 4, 2012. Dorothy was born on June 2, 1932 in Utica, a daughter of the late Philip and Florence Gigliotti. She received her education in Utica schools, including Utica Free Academy. On February 10, 1973 she and Donald L. Rzepka were united in marriage in Marcy, and together enjoyed a loving and devoted marriage of almost 40 years. They resided in Chadwicks before moving to Ilion, where they have been for 19 years. Dorothy was a therapy aid at Marcy Psychiatric Center, retiring in 1992 after more than 24 years of loyal service. Dorothy was an avid artist and talented painter. She was happy to fill her spare time working on the art she so loved. Mrs. Rzepka is survived by her loving husband, Donald; a daughter, Roni Thompson and her husband Everett of Poland, NY; a son, Douglas Kohli of Atlanta, GA; a brother and sister-in-law, Philip and Sue Gigliotti of Rome; stepdaughter, Donna Kistner and her husband Bruce of Utica; stepson, Jon Rzepka and his wife Paula of Utica; sister-in-law, Marie Gigliotti of Barneveld; brother-in-law, Victor and Elizabeth Rzepka of New York Mills; and her best friend and caregiver, Mrs. Dana Clark of Ilion; along with several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her brother, Robert Gigliotti. Dorothy's funeral will be conducted by Deacon James Bower of Annunciation Church, Ilion, at 1 pm on Thursday, December 6, 2012, at Enea Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Road, Ilion. Procession will follow to Calvary Cemetery, Oneida Street, Utica, where she will be laid to rest in the cemetery mausoleum. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Kevin E.
