Obituary of Eileen Losier

Ilion: Mrs. Eileen (Lynch) Losier, 88, of Montgomery Street, passed away in Valley Health Services, with her family at her side, on Wednesday, December 5, 2012. Mrs. Losier was born on June 22, 1924 in Fairfield, a daughter of the late Daniel and Katherine (Kehoe) Lynch. She graduated from Herkimer High School and the Utica School of Commerce. On October 25, 1947, she and Bernard "Bud" Losier were married by her uncle, the Reverend John Kehoe, in St. Francis de Sales Church, Herkimer. She and Bud enjoyed a devoted and loving marriage of 51 years before his passing on December 2, 1998. Eileen was happiest when she was caring for her family and loved ones. While a stay at home Mom, she also cared for children of school teachers. She fondly remembered the Bisely, Orthman and Curtin families. Eileen then went to work at Remington Arms, Ilion, where she was a secretary in the Engineering Department. Eileen was a communicant at the Church of the Annunciation, Ilion. Mrs. Losier leaves her loving daughter, Sharon and her husband John Kowalczik of Ilion, with whom she resided for the past four years. They provided her with a loving home, comfort, care and attention. She is also survived by daughters, Katherine and her husband Dave Williams of Ilion, Patricia and her husband William Albin of Pompey, NY; and sons, Paul and his wife Linda Losier of Herkimer, and Thomas and his wife Theresa Losier of Park Ridge, NJ. She also leaves a brother, John Lynch, of Latham, 13 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, along with several nieces, nephews, cousins, and wonderful friends, Marion Start and Dan and Phyllis Curtin. Eileen was predeceased by her husband, Bud; siblings, Alice and James Curtis, Kay and John Bailey, and Charles and Betty Lynch; a sister-in-law, Katherine Lynch, and a son-in-law, Michael Petryk. She was also predeceased by her good friend Madlyn App and and the members of the "club" who where a close knit group of women (family and friends) who met on a regular basis for over fifty years. Their main purpose was to have a good time and that they did. The family would like to extend their sincerest gratitude to Hospice and Palliative Care and the staff of Valley Health, and especially, family friend Kathy Murray, for the wonderful care and kindness shown to their mother during her illness. In lieu of floral offerings, kindly consider donations in Eileen's memory to the Organ Fund of the Church of the Annunciation, 109 West Street, Ilion, NY 13357 or Valley Health Services, 690 W. German Street, Herkimer, NY 13350; envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects on Sunday, December 9, 2012 from 4-7 pm at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Road, Ilion (town of Frankfort). Mrs. Losier's funeral will begin with prayer at 9:15 am on Monday, December 10, at the funeral home, followed by her Funeral Mass at 10:00 am, celebrated by the Reverend Leo Potvin, assisted by Deacon James Bower in the Church of the Annunciation, Ilion. Procession will follow to Calvary Cemetery, West German Street, Herkimer, where Eileen will be laid to rest next to her beloved Bud. The family has entrusted Eileen's arrangements to Kevin E.
