Obituary of Adrian Downs

ILION- Mr. Adrian Arthur Downs, 67, of Colonial Circle, passed away on December 7, 2012 at Faxton-St. Lukes Healthcare in New Hartford. He was born on November 2, 1945, in Herkimer, son of the late John H. and Hazel M. (Bruce) Downs. Adrian was a Night Auditor at the Radisson Hotel in Utica and also worked at Remington Arms in Ilion. He was a good hearted man with many, many friends who loved everybody. He enjoyed working on his computer and playing karaoke. He loved playing his guitar; playing with local bands and even going down to Nashville and playing with country music artists. One of the things he enjoyed most was playing guitar for many local benefits. Adrian also enjoyed watching football and LOVED the Miami Dolphins. Surivors include his sister Julia Congdon of Ilion; his brothers; James Downs of Ilion and John Downs Jr. and his wife Jane of Virgina and his many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He was predeceased by his sisters: Katherine Quackenbush, Gladys Talcott, Esther Decker and Violet Downs, his brother Lloyd Downs and his nephews John E. Boardman and Clifford D. Boardman Jr. The family will receive relatives and friends from 5-7pm on Thursday December 13, 2012 at the Applegate - Day & Enea Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Rd., Ilion (Town of Frankfort). A religious service will be held at 7pm at the conclusion of calling hours with Pastor Eugene Kipper officiating. because of inclimate weather a graveside service will take place at Armory Hill Cemetery IN THE SPRING OF 2013 . Services and burial will also take place for his nephew John E. Boardman , who passed away on October 31, 2012. Pastor Kipper will also be officiating both graveside services. In lieu of flowers donations to the family or to the funeral home to help pay for the cost of the funeral would be greatly appreciated by the family. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
