Obituary of Elizabeth Fietkiewicz

Little Falls: Mrs. Elizabeth "Betty" Fietkiewicz, 94, a lifelong Little Falls resident, passed away on Wednesday, December 19, 2012 in Little Falls Hospital. Betty was born on September 28, 1918 in Little Falls, a daughter of the late John and Anna (Malek) Belansky. She was educated in Little Falls Schools. On August 23, 1947, Betty and Casimer "Charlie" Fietkiewicz were married by Father Batkiewicz in the Sacred Heart Parsonage, Little Falls. The two of them shared a loving and devoted union of over 49 years, until Charlie's passing on December 20, 1996. Betty's last employment was as an aide in Little Falls Hospital. She was employed with National Automotive Fibres during World War II. Betty was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Little Falls. Betty enjoyed caring for her entire family, from her grandparents to her sister, her husband, children, and grandchild. She loved cooking and baking, reading, and sitting by the pool in the shade in the summer. Betty derived her greatest pleasure from her home, her family and her surroundings. Betty is survived by her daughters, Helen Schwiler and her husband Bernard, and Eva Fietkiewicz, all of Little Falls; a grandchild, Megan Schwiler of Little Falls; cousin, Elizabeth Primmar of Ilion; a very special nephew, William Zeman and his wife Lynn of Manhatten Beach, CA; special nieces, Susan Calfin, also of Manhatten Beach, CA, Stephanie and Manfred Kula of Port Orange, FL, Elsie and Michael Synenki of Little Falls, and Marie Cole, also of Little Falls. She also leaves her special friend and neighbor, Blanche Guilboard of Little Falls and Port Orange, FL, and her special companion, her black lab, Libby. Betty was predeceased by an infant daughter, Regina, her husband, Charlie, and two sisters, Anna Kramer and Susan Zeman. Betty's funeral will be private and held at the convenience of the family on Saturday, December 22, 2012. Burial will take place in the spring in Holy Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Kevin E. Enea, Funeral Director, Enea Family Funeral Home, 24 W. Monroe Street, Little Falls, NY. The Fietkiewicz family would like to extend a sincere thank you to Drs. Freund and Handy and the very caring staff of the 3rd floor of Little Falls Hospital for the outstanding care and compassion given to Betty during her illness.
