Obituary of Mary Vallone

FRANKFORT: Mary R. Vallone, 89, a longtime Frankfort resident, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 26, 2012 at the Lutheran Home, Clinton, NY with the love and support of her family. Born in Little Falls, NY on December 19, 1923, Mary was the daughter of the late John and Clementina (Guerriro) Raiello. She was a 1942 graduate of Little Falls High School and on June 5, 1943 she was united in marriage to Dominick Vallone in St. Joseph's Church, Little Falls; the couple sharing 62 years of love and mutual respect before Mr. Vallone's passing on November 26, 2005. Mary once worked for Univac in Utica as an assembler. As a loving and very family- oriented mother, grandmother, great grandmother and aunt, she enjoyed a special bond with her family and friends. She loved to have company and her door was always open and welcomed everyone into her home. Among many family traditions, she will be remembered for her baking and cooking. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading and doing word search puzzles "Zing Zing's". Mary was a member of Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church, Frankfort. Mary is survived by her beloved children: her son, Dominick Vallone and wife Antoinette of Watertown; her daughters, Marie Hughes and husband William of Amarillo, TX, Barbara Shannon and husband James of Frankfort, Clemmie Vivacqua and husband Sal of Frankfort and Linda Oyer of New Hartford and her companion, Scott Carpenter of Rome; her cherished grandchildren, Donna Shannon-Jones and husband Mark of Warners, NY, Matthew and Valerie Vallone of Watertown; a special great granddaughter, Lauryn Jones; a sister, Michelina (Micki) Papaleo of Little Falls; a sister-in-law, Mary Raiello of Little Falls; many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her brothers, Charles and Anthony "Tony" Raiello and her sisters, Lena Barone and Congetta Raiello. Expressions of sympathy in the form of donations may be made to the Frankfort Fire Department in Mary's memory; envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 28, 2012 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Rd, Town of Frankfort, Ilion, NY (315)894-8000. Friends and relatives are invited to attend Mary's funeral service on Saturday, December 29, 2012 at 9:45 a.m. from the chapel of the funeral home and at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church, Frankfort Street, Frankfort where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated by Father Leo Potvin, assisted by Deacon James Bower. Interment will take place in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Frankfort in the spring where she will be laid to rest next to her husband Dominick. The family is being cared for by Harry J. Enea, Jr., Funeral Director.
