Obituary of Mary Pierce

Mary E. Pyle- Lynch Pierce, 87, of Dolgeville, entered into the presence of her Savior, Wednesday December 26, 2012 in the Little Falls Hospital with her loving family by her side. She was born on December 7, 1925, in Wilmington, DE, the daughter of the late Charles and Elizabeth Pyle. Mary was also in the care of her foster parents Mr. & Mrs. Derikson for a large part of her young years. Mary was raised and educated in Delaware. On August 10, 1945 she married Edmund B. Lynch in Newport, Delaware and relocated to this area. Mr. Lynch passed away March 4, 2011. In June of 1975, Mary married Robert K. Pierce, Sr. Mr. Pierce passed away May 20, 2011. During World War II, she was a "Rosie Girl" where she was employed in the ammunitions plant in Delaware. Mary was instrumental in the development of Lynch Well Drilling along side of her husband Edmund. She also worked with the Cooperative Extension and was involved with the Head Start Program and worked for many years in the health care field. Mary was a member of the Dolgeville Methodist Church, and a member of the Lasselsville Methodist Church, the Oppenheim Senior Citizens Club. Mary loved to sing and for several years she was a member of the Mohawk Valley Choral Society, the Valley Voices for Christ, the Choralaires and sang in the church choir. She loved flowers and children and enjoyed traveling. She also took pleasure in taking children and grandchildren to Camp Alderskate, Vacation Bible School. She had a great love of children, her animals and traveling and especially her church. Her greatest love was her family and her dedication to them was undying and true. All of her family will greatly miss her. Mary is survived by her children; Thomas Lynch and his companion, Linda Bucenec of Mohawk, Roger and Cheryl Lynch of Oppenheim, Gregory and Janette Lynch of Oppenheim, Tina M. Lynch of Oppenheim, Brenda L. Lynch of Stratford, Edmund Lynch of Gloversville and Shawn Lynch and his companion, Denise Cool of Oppenheim; her sister, Grace Lane of St. Petersburg, Fl; her step son, Robert and Evelyn Pierce, Jr. and her step daughter, Joanne Pierce; her seventeen grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter, Tonya Jean Lynch and her siblings, Mabel Craig, Edward Pyle and Charles Pyle. Mary's funeral service will be 7 p.m., Wednesday, January 2, 2013, at the Dolgeville Methodist Church, Dolgeville, with Rev. Diane DiLuzio, Pastor, officiating. Spring interment will be made in Rural Park Cemetery, Inghams Mills. Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects on Wednesday January 2, 2013 from 5-7 p.m. at the Dolgeville Methodist Church, prior to the funeral service. Memorials may be made to the Dolgeville United Methodist Church or to the Herkimer County Humane Society in her memory. Envelopes will be available at the services on Wednesday evening.
