THENDARA-ILION - Robert "Bob" E. Hollandt, age 74, of Thendara, formerly of Ilion, passed away with his family by his side, on Friday, December 28, 2012, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Utica. He was born on November 26, 1938, in Ilion, the son of Erwin and Marion (Vail) Hollandt. Bob graduated from Ilion High School and Syracuse University. Mr. Hollandt was employed as a surveyor for NYS Dept. of Transportation for over thirty years, retiring in 1998. Survivors include his daughters and sons-in-law, Susan Hollandt Simonelli and her husband, Frank, and Sally Hollandt Austin and her husband, Barry, all of Clinton; his son, James E. Hollandt, M.D., and his wife, Valerie, of Endicott, NY; his grandchildren, Jessica and Hannah Taylor, and Anderson, Alexander and Avery Hollandt; his sister, Barbara Hollandt, M.D., of Somerville, NJ; a step-grandson, Dylan Austin; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents, Erwin Hollandt, M.D., and Marion (Hollandt) Hoffman; and his father, Howard Hoffman. In keeping with Bob's wishes, a private funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family. There are no scheduled calling hours.
