HERKIMER: Angela E. (Bonanno) Stone, 92, a long time Herkimer resident, passed away on Monday, December 31, 2012 at Little Falls Hospital with the love and support of her family. Angela was born in Reading, PA on December 19, 1920, the daughter of the late Rosario and Leonarda (Leonardi) Bonanno. She was a 1939 graduate of New York City High School and later married Gerald Stone, living in the Herkimer area for 66 years until his passing on June 2, 1995. She worked as a seamstress for the Boston Store in Utica and also at one time worked for Montgomery Ward and Myers Clothing of Herkimer. Angela's greatest joy was caring for her family. Her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were the center of her heart and they motivated her soul. She was happiest when surrounded by her loved ones and they will cherish all the special ways she showed her love for them. Through all of the changes in her life, she never complained and accepted God's will. Angela was extremely active in the Herkimer Senior Citizens and was a member of St. Francis de Sales Parish. Angela is survived by her son, Scott Stone of Newburgh, NY; her daughter, Leona Scott and husband Marshall of E. Herkimer; her cherished grandchildren, Jared and wife Lori Scott, Terence and wife Lisa Scott, Christopher and Valerie Stone; great grandchildren, Lucas, Lacie, Madelyn and Lucia Scott; a sister, Lucille Benz and husband John of Blauvelt, NY; her grandchildren's mother, Kathryn Stone; in-laws, Norman and Marilyn Stone, Judy Stone and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a brother, Salvatore Bonanno and a sister, Sadie Landi. Those wishing to express an act of kindness in the form of memorial contributions may consider St. Francis de Sales Church, Herkimer: envelopes will be available at the funeral home. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 220 North Washington Street, Herkimer, NY (315)866-1011 from 4:00-6:00 p.m. on Friday, January 4, 2013. Angela's funeral will commence on Saturday, January 5, 2013 at 9:15 a.m. from the funeral home and at 10:00 a.m. at St. Francis de Sales Church, N. Bellinger St., Herkimer, where her Funeral Mass will be offered by The Very Reverend Mark Cunningham, Pastor. Interment will take place in the spring at Mountain View Memorial Gardens, Town of Little Falls. The family is being cared for by Harry J. Enea, Funeral Director.
