Obituary of Doris I. Williams

ILION - Doris I. Williams, age 91, of Elizabethtown Rd., Ilion, died on Wednesday, January 2, 2013, at Faxton St. Luke's Healthcare, New Hartford, NY, with her family at her side. She was born on September 30, 1921, in Biloxi, MS, the daughter of Ray and Bertha (Tibilier) Canaan. Doris was a graduate of Biloxi High School and received her B.A. degree at South Eastern Bible College. On July 6, 1940, she was married to Fred A. Williams in Gulfport, MS. He died several years ago. Mrs. Williams was a retired Assembly of God Minister. Throughout her lifetime, she assisted her husband, Rev. Fred Williams, in the Casa View Assembly of God Church, which they founded. Mrs. Williams was also a Children's Evangelist and writer, and a current member of the National Education Association. Survivors include her two daughters and sons-in-law, Donna and Michael Boyer, of Ilion, and Rhonda and John Bryant, of Worcester, MA; two grandsons, Michael, and Matthew Boyer and his wife, Brandi, of Utica; one granddaughter, Kimberly Bryant, of Worcester, MA; six great-grandchildren, Seth Boyer and Geno, Bella, Mia, Mya and Lena Dorsagno; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Sunday, January 6, 2013, at the Applegate-Day & Enea Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Rd., Ilion, with Pastor Bob Martin of the Carpenter Shop, West Winfield, officiating. Visitation will be held Sunday, January 6, 2013, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., prior to the funeral home service.
