Obituary of Joan A. Wilson Loiacano

Joan J. Wilson Loiacano, 79, of Little Falls, passed away peacefully, Thursday, January 3, 2013, in Valley Health Services, Herkimer, following a brief illness. She was born on August 7, 1933, in Jordanville, the daughter of the late John and Anna Burez Yaworski and was a graduate of Vanhornesville Central School. Joan married Floyd Wilson in Sts. Peter and Paul Orthodox Church in E. Herkimer. Mr. Wilson passed away in 1990. She later married Joseph Loiacano in Ilion. Joan has been a lifelong resident of this area. Prior to her retirement, Joan was employed as a cashier with the P & C Supermarket, Little Fallls. She enjoyed going dancing with the girls and trips to the casino. Earlier in her life, she enjoyed skiing and skating. Joan's greatest pride and joy was her family especially spending time with her grandson, Shawn. Joan is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Gary "Butch" and Sue Wilson of Mohawk; her daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Phil Wattles of Nantucket, MA; her beloved grandson, Shawn Wilson of Mohawk; her sisters and brothers-in-laws, Kate Sadlon and Helen and Steven Sadlon, all of Ilion, Nancy and Bernard Hugick of Mohawk; her brother, Walter Yaworski of Herkimer; her sister-in-law, Georgia Yaworski of Pennsylvania and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings, Steven Yaworski, Michael Yaworski, Mary Valentine, Anne Ostasz, Olga Leduc Pavlot and Larry Pabes. Joan's funeral service will be held 11 a.m. , Monday, January 7, 2013, in the chapel of the Enea Family Funeral Home, 24 W. Monroe Street, Little Falls, with the Very Reverend John Udics, Rector of Sts. Peter and Paul Orthodox Church, E. Herkimer, officiating. Spring interment will take place in Sts. Peter and Paul Orthodox Cemetery, E. Herkimer, at the convenience of the family. In keeping the family's wishes, there will be no public visitation. Contributions, in Joan's memory, may be offered to the Arthritis Foundation, Upstate New York Chapter, 3300 Monroe Ave., Suite 319, Rochester, New York 14618. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
