Obituary of Mary Hight

FRANKFORT: Mary J. Hight, 88, a lifelong Frankfort resident, passed away on Thursday, January 17, 2013 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Utica, NY with the love and support of her family at her side. Born in Frankfort, NY on April 29, 1924, Mary was the daughter of the late Antonino and Antonina (Prestigiacomo) DiPazza. She was a 1943 graduate of Frankfort High School and on October 14, 1944 she was united in marriage to Fred O. Hight at St. Mary's Church, Frankfort; the couple sharing 46 years of a loving marriage before his passing on April 8, 1991. Mary once worked for Univac in Utica as an assembler. Mary's greatest joy was caring for her family. She was happiest when surrounded by her loved ones and they will cherish all the special ways she showed her love for them. In her leisure time she enjoyed arts and crafts, crocheting, knitting and Bingo at the VFW. Mary was a lifetime member of the Frankfort Young at Heart Senior Citizens, a member of the Library Club, the Red Hat Society, the St. Francis Ladies Auxiliary, the Addolorata Society and Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church, Frankfort. Mary is survived by her beloved children: her sons, Frederick H. Hight and wife MarySue of Frankfort, Wayne Hight and wife Ellen of Beavercreek, OH; her daughters, Linda Trombley of Leesport, PA, Lisa C. Eaker and husband Charles of Ilion, Marie (Hight) Scialdo of Herkimer; her cherished grandchildren, Alan Hight, Alane Lovic and husband David, Bryan Hight and wife Anna, Alex Hight and wife Michelle, Ted Trombley, Jr. and wife Cyndi, Melissa Widdicombe and husband Jon, Ryan Eaker and wife Val, MaryCatherine Eaker and Victoria Scialdo; her great grandchildren, Emma, Jude, Eli, Jacob, Abigail, Teagen, Nolan, Jillian, Emily and Brayden; her twin sister Lena Kipper of Frankfort and her sister Jane Ferrara of Missouri; her in-laws, Mervyn Hight of Frankfort, Leland Hight of South Carolina and Calvin Hight of Richfield Springs and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a brother, Bennie DiPiazza and her sisters, Frances Vivirito and Jenny Abbacchi. Mary's family would like to extend a special thank you to the Mohawk Homestead for their care, kindness and compassion shown to Mary during her stay there. In lieu of floral arrangements, expressions of sympathy in the form of donations may be made to the American Lung Association in Mary's memory; envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 25, 2013 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Road, (Town of Frankfort) Ilion, NY, (315)894-8000. Friends and relatives are invited to attend Mary's funeral service on Saturday, January 26, 2013 at 9:45 a.m. from the chapel of the funeral home and at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church, Frankfort Street, Frankfort where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated by Father Leo Potvin, assisted by Deacon James Bower. Interment will take place in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Frankfort in the spring where she will be laid to rest next to her husband Fred. Members of the Young at Heart Seniors Citizens are asked to meet at the funeral home at 5:30 p.m. on Friday for a service. The family is being cared for by Harry J. Enea, Jr., Funeral Director.
