Frankfort: Betty June Irla, 74, of Zolad Road, passed away on Monday, February 11, 2013 in St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Utica. Mrs. Irla was born in Utica on June 24, 1938, a daughter of the late Robert and Mary (Wrobel) Levenson. She received her education in Utica schools and graduated from Utica Free Academy. She was employed at Metropolitan Insurance Company, Utica, retiring in 1991. In 1956, Betty June and Charles J. Irla were married in Bridgewater. They spent many wonderful years together, and would have celebrated their 57th anniversary this year. She is survived by her beloved husband, Charles; a daughter Jeanette Szczesny and her husband Paul; a son Charles E. Irla and his significant other, Deb Coyne; along with six grandchildren, Mary Ann and Lauren Szczesny, Charles, Cynthia, David, and Kristen Irla; three great grandchildren; a brother Ed Levenson of AZ; and a sister Marcia Mazur of Utica. Betty June was predeceased by her parents, Robert and Mary, and a daughter-in-law, Robin Irla. In keeping with Betty's wishes, there are no public calling hours or services. Betty June's family would like to thank the nurses and entire staff of St. Elizabeth Medical Center and the Frankfort Volunteer Fire Department for the wonderful care and compassion shown to her during her illness.
