Obituary of Jane Hart

SALISBURY CENTER- Mrs. Jane S. Hart, 87, of State Rte 29A, passed away peacefully on February 13, 2013 at St. Johnsville Rehabilitation & Nursing Center. She was born on November 15, 1925, in Little Falls, daughter of the late James and Effie (Lawson) Shanahan. On March 12, 1946 she was united in marriage with Stephen O. Hart in Salisbury. They shared a marriage of love for over 66 years. Family was of the utmost importance to her. She was very involved with the Curtis Cornerstone Chapel. She loved to talk with her friends on the telephone every single day. She especially enjoyed garage sales and arts and crafts. Jane will be missed by many. Survivors include her devoted husband Stephen O. Hart Sr., her loving children: Stephen Hart and his wife Debbie of St. Johnsville, Patti Barnes of Salisbury Center and Priscilla Jarman and her husband Scott of Texas; her 16 beloved grandkids: Paul and Christine Barnes Jr. and family, Richard and Shannon Barnes and family, Jacqueline Barnes and family, Cheri and Shannon Hyney and family, David Voorhees and family, Christian and Tiffany Voorhees and family, Sarah and Jay Romine and family, Joshua and Jessica Jarman and family, Brenda Hart, Amanda and Josh Nauroth, Christina Hart, Jose Alvarado, Stephanie Hart, Trinity Oliphant, Lahina Stine and Louise Campbell and her 28 beloved great grandkids; her nieces, nephews and her special friends Patrick Jaquay and Ellen Barton. She was predeceased by her brothers: James, Jack and Francis Shanahan; her sisters Clara Noonan and Waneta Tripp and her husband John, and her sister in law Gertrude Foster and her husband Archie; her granddaughter Shawna Voorhees, her son in law Paul Barnes Sr., her nephews Ron, Don and Jack Noonan; her brother in law Richard Hart and her mother and father in laws: Christina and Harold Hart. In keeping with Jane's wishes there are no calling hours but a memorial service will be held at 3pm on Sunday February 17, 2013 at Curtiss Corners Chapel with the Rev. Rodney Congdon officiating. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations in Jane's name be made to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society. Envelopes will be available at the church.
