He received his education in Little Falls and was a graduate of Little Falls High School, Class of 1942. Cyril enlisted in the United States Navy in 1943. On February 23, 1944, Cyril was given 69 years, by the grace of God, by being one of only 24 survivors while serving on board the E.G. He was awarded the European, African and Middle Eastern Campaign Ribbon, Asiatic Pacific Theatre Ribbon, and American Theatre Ribbon. On February 5, 1949, he married the former Barbara Krahn at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church in Forest Hills, NY. He worked for 23 years as a maintenance foreman at Little Falls Hospital, retiring on December 30, 1994. Prior to this employment, he worked for the railroad, General Electric on Broad Street, Utica, and UNIVAC, also in Utica. Mr. Dobrovolc was a faithful communicant of Holy Family Parish Church, and served as a Eucharistic Minister. He was a member of the Little Falls VFW Post 4612. He was extremely devoted to his family, and he loved to spend time with them. He is survived by his loving children: Rosemarie Bolen and her husband Stephen of Collins, NY, Andrew H. Dobrovolc and his wife Jeannie of Dayton, OH, John C. Dobrovolc and his wife Lorraine of Little Falls, and Joseph E. Dobrovolc; Vincent and Sarah Dobrovolc and their child Avery; Allison Dobrovolc, Tricia Marie Dobrovolc, and Colin Andrew Dobrovolc. He also leaves his siblings: Edward & Ruth Dobrovolc of Bristol, TN and Donald & Donna Dobrovolc of Inghams Mills; and a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Henry Krahn and his wife Lucy of Rego Park, NY. Cyril was predeceased by his beloved wife, Barbara. Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects on Friday, February 22, 2013 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm at Enea Family Funeral Home, 24 W.
