Obituary of Eleanor M. Kinney

Frankfort: Mrs. Eleanor M. Kinney, of Third Avenue Extension, passed away on Friday, February 22, 2013, in Valley Health Services, Herkimer. Mrs. Kinney was born in Frankfort on March 23, 1920, a daughter of the late Guiseppe and Maria (Silvestri) Oriolo. She was a lifelong Frankfort resident, and received her education in Frankfort schools. On June 14, 1941, she and Joseph C. Kinney were married. Eleanor and Joseph were devoted to each other, and were married 61 years before his passing away on January 1, 2002. Eleanor was last employed at UNIVAC in Utica; prior to that she was self-employed as a beautician for over 20 years. She was a devout Catholic, and was a communicant of Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church, Frankfort. She volunteered for many, many activities at the church for over 40 years. Eleanor's entire family was at the center of her life; she enjoyed nothing more than spending time with them. Eleanor leaves her loving son and daughter-in-law, Joseph and Deborah Kinney of Frankfort; her devoted sister and brother-in-law, Agnes and Donald Marrone, who were at her side daily during her final days and a brother and sister-in-law, Domenick and Marie Oriolo, all of Frankfort. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren, Jennifer and Daniel Janecek, Jessica Kinney, and Joseph Kinney and his fiancé, Melissa Mogenson; and a great-grandchild, Cole Janecek; in-laws, Marie (Mamie) Oriolo and Frances DeJohn; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins, including a special nephew and niece, Robert Oriolo and Karen Brown. Mrs. Kinney was predeceased by her husband, Joseph, and brothers, Alex, Nicholas, Joseph, and Frank Oriole. Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects on Sunday, February 24, 2013 from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Road, Ilion (town of Frankfort). Eleanor's funeral will begin on Monday, February 25 with prayer at the funeral home at 9:45 am, followed by her Funeral Mass at 10:30 am, celebrated by the Reverend Leo Potvin, assisted by Deacon James Bower, in Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church, Frankfort. Committal services will follow in the Chapel at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Frankfort. Eleanor's family would like to sincerely thank the nurses and staff of Valley Health Services for the compassionate care they provided to Eleanor during her stay.
