Obituary of Lena G. Campione

LITTLE FALLS- Mrs. Lena G. Campione, 84, a longtime Little Falls resident, passed away on March 4, 2013 at St. Johnsville Rehabilitation & Nursing Center. She was born on May 23, 1928, in St. Johnsville, daughter of the late Louis and Grace (Putman) Hall. She was educated in the Fort Plain schools. On December 10, 1943 she was united in marriage with Salvatore Campione. Their loving union lasted 22 years until his passing on January 5,1966. In 1970 she moved from St. Johnsville to Little Falls. She was a member of the Holy Family Parish. Lena's life centered around her family. They were her world. She was a superior cook and enjoyed craft shows and flowers. She especially liked going to garage sales. Survivors include her 3 daughters: Joann Farnham of East Herkimer, Diana Campione of Scotts Bluff, Nebraska and Mary Ann Stowell and her husband Gary of St. Johnsville; her 2 sons: Frank Campione and his wife Edna of Little Falls and Peter Campione and his wife Krista of Little Falls; her 2 sisters: Marlene Hotaling and her husband Paul of St. Johnsville and Dawn Millington and her husband Ron of St. Johnsville; her daughter in law Cindy Campione of Little Falls; her brother in law Ed Woroby of St. Johnsville; her 14 grandchildren; many great grandchildren, nieces , nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her son Sam Campione, her grandson Jamie Campione and her brother Raymond "Cat Man" Kretser. There are no public calling hours . Lena's Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11am on Wednesday March 6, 2013 at Holy Family Church with the Rev. Thomas Lawless officiating. Burial will take place in the spring at St. Johnsville Cemetery where she will be laid to rest alongside her husband Salvatore. In lieu of flowers the family request donations in Lena's name be made to the St. Johnsville Rehabilitation and Nursing Center or to the Make A Wish Foundation. Envelopes are available at the church.
