ILION - Mrs. Roselind "Giggles" (Cota) Bailey, age 67, of Elizabethtown Road, Ilion (Town of Columbia), passed away on Wednesday, March 6, 2013, at Faxton/St. Luke's Healthcare, New Hartford. At the time of her passing, she was blessed with the support of her loved ones at her side. She was born on February 5, 1946, in Amherst, New Hampshire, a daughter of the late Albert and Gladys (Phillips) Cota. On August 14, 1965, she was united in marriage with Thomas L. "Tom" Bailey. The couple raised a beautiful family and shared many memories in a loving union of over 35 years. Mr. Bailey passed away on May 3, 2001. Roselind created a strong bond with her family through the years. Her love was great for that of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She found great pleasure in her personal time, performing crafts and creating beautiful floral arrangements. She was an animal lover, showing extra special attention to her beloved dog "Pierre". She was an avid Bingo player and was a great lover of "garage sale - ing". Roselind was of the Catholic faith. She had worked for over 20 years with the Herkimer County Cheese Company, Ilion, NY. Survivors include her four children, Ginny Bailey, of Herkimer, Thomas Bailey and his wife, Nicki, of Ilion, Jeffrey Bailey and his wife, Kim, of Ilion, and Carlene Maine and her husband, Shawn, of Ilion; grandchildren, Adrianne Robellard, Kristy Robellard, Casey Robellard, Shenea Bailey, Jordyn Bailey, Tyler Bailey, Devon Maine, Logan Maine and Dustin Maine; great-grandchildren, Carson Robellard and Jenna Smith; her mother-in-law, Leona Bailey, of Amsterdam; a sister, Patricia Durant and her husband, Steve, of Sacramento, CA; brothers, Robert Cota and wife, Gloria, of Eaton, NY, and Jeff Cota; along with an abundant amount of nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws, all of whom were very special to her. Relatives who preceded Roselind in death include a brother, Albert Cota; a sister, Leona Jordan; and her twin sister, Rosemary Wallace. The family has entrusted all service arrangements to the Applegate-Day & Enea Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Road, Ilion (Town of Frankfort), Donald J. Applegate, Director, assisted by Kevin E. Enea. Roselind's family is grateful for the compassion extended at the St. Luke's Hospital, particularly the sixth floor nurses and 2nd Floor CCU nurse Mark Theodore. Also, thanks to Deacon Paul Lehmann for his religious guidance during this difficult time. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, March 10, 2013, at 4:00 PM in the main chapel of the Applegate-Day & Enea Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Road, Ilion. Music and memories will be offered to celebrate her life. Calling hours at the funeral home will be held prior to the funeral service, 1-4 PM, on Sunday. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Spring interment will be arranged with the family for burial next to her husband, Tom, at Cedarville Cemetery.
