Obituary of Elizabeth L. Schneider

Elizabeth L. Schneider, 86, of Ilion and formerly of Virginia and Little Falls, passed away peacefully, March 5, 2013, in the F.F. Thompson Hospital, Canandaigua, NY with her family at her side. She was born on May 6, 1926 in Winter Haven, FL the daughter of the late William Elwood and Julia Donnelly Lonis and was a graduate of Little Falls High School, Class of '44. During her career, Betty was a very determined and hard working woman of her era, she was employed for many years in the United States Department of Defense being the executive assistant to a four star General. Later in her career her determination carried into the position of Procurement Specialist of the Department of Defense. Betty strived from excellence and took great pride in her achievements. Betty is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, John and Jackie Schneider of Merrimack, NH; her brother, Robert and Margaret "Marge" Lonis of Mohawk; her sister and brother-in-law, Eleanor and Robert Hanley of Canandaigua; her grandsons, Joseph Schneider and Shawn Barry and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings, Williams Lonis, Patricia Gabriel , David Lonis and Donald Lonis . Betty's funeral will be held 12 p.m. Tuesay, March 12, 2013, from the chapel of the Enea Family Funeral Home, 24 W. Monroe St. Little Falls, with Deacon Joseph Delorenzo, officiating. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Town of Herkimer. Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects on Tuesday, March 12, 2013, from 10 a.m. until the time of the services at the funeral home.
