Obituary of Graham Daley

STRATFORD- Mr. Graham "Junior" L. Daley Jr., 67, of Seeley Rd. passed away peacefully on March 17, 2013 at the Mohawk Valley Nursing Home with his loving family at his side. He was born on June 5, 1945, in Little Falls, son of the late Graham and Hazel (Burdick) Daley. On November 30, 1963 he was united in marriage with Lillian Krawec in Inghams Mills. Together they shared a loving union of almost 50 years. He worked on road construction and tunnels in his early years for various companies. In later years he worked for Remington Arms and then Hussmann Corp. in Gloversville from where he retired due to illness. Family was the most important aspect of Graham's life. He enjoyed being with his family in many different ways from snowmobiling to camping, fishing, hunting and 4 wheeling. He was very proud that he restarted the Stratford Snowmobile Club in 1990 after it was closed for years. He was President of the club for several years. He was also a member of East Canada Fish & Game Club, the Stratford Fire Dept and he served as Council Person for the Town of Stratford for many years. In his early years Graham was active with Midget & Little League in Dolgeville serving as coach of the Indians for many years. He was also an avid sportsman and played basketball with the town team and fast pitch softball for the Stratford Volunteer Fire Dept. Graham also enjoyed dancing and listening to country music. Survivors include his wife Lillian; his sons: John Daley of Salisbury Center and Chad Daley and his fiancé Tammy Stone of Ilion; his daughter Kellie Quick and her husband David of Gloversville; his grandchildren Kacey Daley, Chad Daley Jr., Andrew LaPorte and Nicholas LaPorte; his brother Bruce Daley and his wife Judy of Salisbury Center; his sisters: Betty Allen and her husband Kenneth of Stratford and Janice Aird of Lake Pleasant and his many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his brother Robert and by his brother in law Arvin Aird. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Roberts & Enea Family Funeral Home, 3 E. Faville Ave., Dolgeville from 3-5pm on Thursday March 21, 2013. A religious service will be held at the conclusions of calling hours with Graham's nephew Rev. Kenneth Allen officiating. Burial will take place at a later date. The family would like to thank all the staff, nurses and CNAs at Mohawk Valley Nursing Home for the love and care they showed to Graham. They would also like to extend a special thank you to Nick, Brandy, Erin, Alicia, Linda and Sue and to Keith Thompson and Kenny Thompson. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations in Grahams name be made to the Stratford Snow Drifters Club, 602 Seeley Rd., Stratford, NY 13470. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
