Obituary of Phyllis Carter

ST. JOHNSVILLE- Phyllis Carter. 80, of State Hwy 5, passed away on Sunday March 17, 2013 at Little Falls Hospital with her loving family at her side. She was born on July 7, 1932, in Gloversville, daughter of the late Hannibal and Stella (Whitbeck) Tretola. She was employed at Helmont Mills in St. Johnsville for over 35 years. Phyllis enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She was an avid New York Yankee fan. Survivors include her daughter Cynthia Giaquinto and her husband Thomas of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; her grandchildren: Justin Giaquinto and his wife Amy and her great grandson Gabriel of Longmont,CO, Corey Giaquinto of Ocean Beach,CA and Andrew Giaquinto of Charleston, SC; her sister Gloria Ciociola of Little Falls; her longtime companion Joe Mento of St. Johnsville and her several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her sister Mabel, her brother Mike and her brother in law Arthur Ciociola. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations in Phyllis' name be made to Bassett Healthcare in Cooperstown. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. The family would also like to extend a special thank you to the nurses and staff of Bassett Healthcare, especially the nurses on the 3rd and 5th floors for the love and care they gave to Phyllis. The family will receive relatives and friends at Phyllis' memorial visitation from 6-8pm on Friday March 22, 2013 at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 9 Center St., St. Johnsville.
