Obituary of Susan Gray

ST. JOHNSVILLE- Mrs. Susan E. Gray, 58, of County Hwy 108, passed away peacefully on March 22, 2013 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on December 30, 1954, in Little Falls, daughter of Walter and Monica (Nash) Viparina. She earned her Associates Degree in Nursery School Education from Cobleskill. On October 22, 1977 she was united in marriage with Dennis Gray at the United Methodist Church in St. Johnsville. Susan was very active on the family farm right until she started working at St. Johnsville Rehabilitation & Nursing Center. She was there for 22 years as a Nutrition Assistant. Survivors include her mother Monica (Nash) Viparina; her husband Dennis ; her children Meaghan Gray of Cary, NC, Justin Gray and his fiancé Mary and their son Owen of Dolgeville and Kayla Gray and her fiancé A.J. of Little Falls; her brother David Viparina and his wife Mary Jane of Ledgewood, NJ; her sister Mary Viparina and her fiancé Peter of Phoenix, AZ; her 4 nieces; 4 nephews, several cousins, and her beloved dog Carson. She was predeceased by her father Walter, her Uncle Paul, and her brother in law Fred . Family was the most important aspect of her life. She loved her grandson Owen more than anything. Susan loved her house and yard and took great pride in keeping it beautiful. She loved to plant flowers and decorate the inside . Susan was a very caring person who always thought of and always put other people ahead of her. She was very, very fond of her pet dog Carson. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 9 Center St., St. Johnsville from 5-8pm on Wednesday March 27, 2013. A religious service will be held at the funeral home at 12pm on Thursday March 28, 2013 with Rev. Gertrude Ortlieb officiating. Burial will take place in the spring at Inghams Mills Cemetery. Susan especially loved flowers, and family and friends are welcome to send them.. Donations in Susan's name to the Herkimer Humane Society would be greatly appreciated also.
