Obituary of Cynthia L. Groulx

Herkimer: Cynthia L. Groulx, 54, of West Walnut Street, passed away unexpectedly, at St. Elizabeth's Hospital, with her loving relatives and friends at her side, on Wednesday, March 27, 2013. Cynthia was born on November 8, 1958 in Rome, a daughter of the late Charles and Cathryn (Gilbert) Groulx. She attended Herkimer schools and was a Graduate of the Class of 1976, then went on to Herkimer County Community College and Geneseo College. Cyndi was employed as a Senior Medicaid Service Coordinator for Herkimer ARC. She was a member of St. Francis de Sales Church, HARC Guardianship Committee, and was a former member of the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary. She is survived by her brothers, Charles, Jr. of Knoxville, TN, Carl and his wife Gail of Canada, and Christopher of Herkimer. She was a loving aunt and great-aunt to Carl, Brandon, Jeremy, Shane, Cheyanne, Connor, Lucas, and Cathryn, and they are saddened by her untimely passing. She also leaves several aunts, uncles, cousins, and special friends, Evelyn Remmers and Nancy Schneegas. Cyndi was predeceased by her parents, Charles and Cathryn. Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects on Monday, April 1, 2013 from 2 until 4 p.m. at Enea Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Road, Ilion (town of Frankfort). Her funeral will begin with prayer at the funeral home on Tuesday, April 2, at 9:15 a.m., followed by her Funeral Mass celebrated by the Very Reverend Mark Cunningham at 10 a.m. in St. Francis de Sales Church, Bellinger Street, Herkimer. Interment will take place in the spring in Calvary Cemetery, West German Street, where she will be laid to rest next to her parents. Cyndi's family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to Nancy Schneegas, Evelyn and Kim Remmers, and her many friends who spent time with her while she was in the hospital.
