Obituary of Lena A. Fiorentino

Mrs. Lena A. Fiorentino, 82, of Alpine Rehbilitation & Nursing Center, Little Falls passed away peacefully, April 2, 2013, in the Little Falls Hospital, Little Falls, with her loving family at her side. She was born on July 29, 1930 in Mohawk, the daughter of the late John and Rose Nardelli Zember and was educated in Mohawk schools. On October 28, 1950, Lena married to Carlo J. Fiorentino in St Anthony's Church, Herkimer. They shared a loving union of 59 years until his passing on February 19, 2010. She had been a lifelong resident of the Mohawk Valley. Lena was a longtime seamstress, retiring from the Duofold Dress Factory in Mohawk. Earlier in her career she also worked for the Gordon Manufacturing Dress Company in Herkimer. Lena was a devout communicant of St. Francis de Sales Church in Herkimer. She is survived by her sons and daughters- in-law, James and Cynthia Fiorentino of Newport, Carlo and Ellen Fiorentino, Jr. of Little Falls, Timothy and Patricia Fiorentino of Newport and Robert Fiorentino of Springfield Center; his daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Ann and Anthony DeRusso of Frankfort and Olga and Ron Byrum of Georgia; her brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Sharon Zember of Tennessee; her sisters and brothers-in-laws, Carmella and Howard Miller of Ohio, Florence Harter of Mohawk and Marie and Ted Hilts of Herkimer; her nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband and by her brother-in-law, Frank Harter. Lena's funeral will commence on Friday, April 5, 2013 at 9:15 a.m. from the chapel of the Enea Family Funeral Home, 220 N. Washington St., Herkimer and the 10:00 a.m. at St. Francis de Sales Church, Herkimer, where her Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Very Reverend Mark Cunningham, Pastor. Interment will be made later this spring in Calvary Cemetery, Herkimer. Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects on Thursday, April 4, 2013, from 4-7 p.m. at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 220 N. Washington St., Herkimer.
