Obituary of Pat Guiney

Little Falls: Mrs. Pat Guiney, 70, a lifelong resident of Little Falls, passed away unexpectedly in Little Falls Hospital on Thursday, April 18, 2013. Pat was born on September 17, 1942 in Little Falls, a daughter of the late Timothy and Lucreta Danehy. She attended St. Mary's Academy and graduated with the Class of 1960. She went on to attend Albany Business College. On November 16, 1963, she and Richard "Biff" Guiney were married in St. Mary's Church, Little Falls. Biff passed away on January 2, 1999. Pat's last employment was with the Little Falls Schools System, as a cafeteria assistant in Benton Hall. Mrs. Guiney was a member of Holy Family Parish Church, a long standing member and past president of the American Legion Auxiliary, and the Polish Home. She was an avid reader, and loved her animals, all her cats (many who have predeceased her). She loved her Sunday rides with Jeannie and Ryder, trips to Lake George, and trips everywhere. She loved the Adirondacks, and the ocean, or just going out to eat with friends and family. Pat leaves behind her beloved daughter, Jeannie Guiney of Little Falls; a treasured canine-grandson Ryder, her nephews, William Dodge and his wife Char and Robert Dodge, a niece, Teresa Lee and her husband Joseph; great-nieces and nephews, Samantha, Logan, Michael, Kevin, Kristen, Brian, and Christopher; along with special close family friend, Paulette Restante, and her beloved feline companion, Smokey. She was predeceased by her husband, Biff , her parents, and her sister-in-law, Patricia Casler. Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects on Sunday, April 21, 2013 from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Enea Family Funeral Home, 24 W. Monroe Street, Little Falls. Pat's funeral will begin with prayer at the funeral home on Monday, April 22, at 10:15 am, followed by her Mass of Christian Burial, celebrated by the Reverend Thomas Lawless, in Holy Family Parish Church at 11:00 am. Procession will follow to St. Mary's Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest. The Little Falls American Legion Auxiliary will meet at 5:30 pm on Sunday to conduct their service. Pat's family would to extend their sincere gratitude to Dr. Yoss, her Pulmonologist, and Dr. Julie Perlanski for their excellent care, and compassion given to her during her illness. Those wishing may contribute in Pat's memory to HALO of Little Falls, Herkimer County Humane Society, or Little Falls Hospital; envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
