Obituary of George Lussier

Mr. George Alfred Lussier Jr. 96 a resident of the Alpine Rehabilitation and Nursing Home and former Rockton Plaza resident died Wednesday evening May 1, 2013 with his daughter Betty and Grandchildren at his side. He was born on April 30, 1917 in Scottstown Quebec, Canada the son of George A. and Harriet M.(Coburn) Lussier and came to the United States with his family in 1920. His family located in Forestport, New York where a he attended schools. His marriage to the former Mildred C. LaBlanc took place on May 22, 1941. Mrs. Lussier predeceased him on February 6, 1994. George was employed in many occupations during his working life. At first he was employed by the New York Central railroad out of Forestport, New York. Then he was a member of the Civilian Conservation Corps from 1938-1939. After which he went to work for the former Eastern Foot Wear Company both of Newport and Dolgeville New York. His major working achievement was with the former UNIVAC Company of Utica as a electrician from 1951-1975. He retired from ICL Corporation many years ago. George was of the Catholic Faith and while a resident of Little Falls he attended Holy Family Parish. His family will remember the many times that they spent with him at Canada Lake, especially boating, water skiing and fishing. His family was foremost with him in all that they did. He is survived by his daughters Elizabeth "Betty" Spoor with whom he lived for several years in Dolgeville and Marie Ortlieb of Dolgeville, His Grandchildren Lisa and her husband Boyd Carrigan of Little Falls, Kim and her husband Race Trumble of Dolgeville, Tiffany and her husband Nate Mowers of Dolgeville, Michelle Ortlieb and Michael and his wife Menchie Ortlieb. His Great Grandchildren Alec Carrigan, Brandon Griffith, Ian Smith, Hunter Smith, Brooke Trumble, and Mason Mowers. Also his canine friend "Chico". He was predeceased by a son Les Lussier on August 14, 2005. Memorial services will be held Tuesday May 7th, 2013 at 2PM at the Roberts & Enea Funeral Home 3 Faville Avenue Dolgeville, NY. Rev. Quy N. Vo Pastor of St. Joseph's Church will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours are Tuesday from Noon until 2PM. His daughter Betty would like to Thank the staff at the Alpine Nursing Home for the care and concern show to her Father and her family while he was a resident there.
