Obituary of George Fejko

Little Falls/Herkimer: Mr. George Fejko, 82, of Sterusky Road, Little Falls, town of Manheim, passed away on Monday, May 27, 2013 in St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Utica. George was born on October 26, 1930 in Hicksville (Long Island), NY, a son of the late George and Mary Fejko. In his younger years, he attended Richfield Springs Schools, but then attended Herkimer Schools and was a graduate of the Class of 1949. On February 11, 1956, George joined in marriage with the former Marsha Lee Collis in St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church of Little Falls. George and Marsha enjoyed nearly 42 years of marriage before her passing on January 10, 1998. The couple shared a special bond with one another and they were always there for each other with love and support. He was a veteran of the US Army serving from 1953 until 1955. George was the Owner/Operator of George Fejko Cattle Trucking in Little Falls. At one time, he and his wife worked at the Pennsylvania Egg Carton Corporation, formerly located in Herkimer. He was a member of Holy Family Parish, East Herkimer Volunteer Fire Department, and the Town Planning Board of Manheim. George is survived by his loving daughters, Mary Jean Keyser and her husband Richard of Little Falls, JoAnn Bellinger and her husband David, also of Little Falls, and Ann Marie Ade of Palm Coast, FL; his grandchildren, Nicole Keyser, Wayne Congdon, Stephen Congdon, Cheryl Johnson, and Allan Ade; a sister, Helen Sherwood of Manlius; along with many step-grandchildren and cousins. His wife, parents, and a brother, John, predeceased him. Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects at Enea Family Funeral Home, 220 N. Washington Street, Herkimer (866-1011) on Sunday, June 2, 2013 from 5 PM until 8 PM. His funeral will begin on Monday, June 3, from the funeral home with prayer at 9:15 AM, followed by his Funeral Mass, celebrated by the Reverend Thomas Lawless, at 10 AM in Holy Family Parish Church, Little Falls. Procession will follow to Calvary Cemetery, W. German Street, Herkimer, where he will be laid to rest next to his beloved Marsha. Full military honors will be accorded.
