Obituary of Margaret Mullen
LITTLE FALLS: Margaret A. Mullen, 97, of Little Falls and Vestal, entered into eternal rest on Friday, June 7, 2013 at Willow Point Nursing Home in Vestal, NY.
Margaret was born in Dolgeville on January 16, 1916, the daughter of the late Joseph and Olga (Kurto) Schumacher. She was educated in Dolgeville schools.
She was united in marriage with Harold G. Mullen, of Littler Falls on October 24, 1936 at St. Joseph's Church, Dolgeville. The couple settled in Little Falls. Mr. Mullen died on May 9, 1999.
Margaret had been employed at the National Automotive Fibers and retired from Burrows Paper Mill in 1978.
Margaret was a member of the Holy Family Parish and was a life member of the local American Legion Auxiliary.
Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a brother, Herman Schumacher; a sister, Ann Friday and husband, Bernard (Barney); sisters-in-law, Mary E. Leary and husband Paul and Edna Pavalock and husband Donald.
She is survived by her sons, Harold Mullen and wife Gloria of Vestal and Gary Mullen, Sr. of Little Falls; a brother, Alfred Schumacher of Arietta; grandchildren, Kathleen Mullen of Johnson City, Patricia Senft of Binghamton, Kevin (Andrea) Mullen of Watertown, Christa Mullen of Jackson Hole, Wyoming and Gary Mullen, Jr. and partner Casey of Little Falls; great-grandchildren, Amanda (Nathaniel) Scull of Brattleboro, VT, Kyle Senft of Endicott, Kendra (Brady) Read of Phoenix, AZ and Logan Mullen of Little Falls. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family wishes to acknowledge the exceptional care, comfort and love shown to Margaret by the staff of Willow Point Nursing Home in Vestal.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 13, 2013 from 9:00 a.m.-10:15 a.m. at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 24 W. Monroe Street, Little Falls, NY (315)823-2424. Friends and relatives are respectfully invited to attend Margaret's funeral service following calling hours beginning at 10:15 a.m. from the Chapel of the funeral home and at 11:00 a.m. from Holy Family Parish, corner of John/E. Main Street, Little Falls where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated by Father Thomas Lawless, Pastor. Procession will then follow to St. Joseph's Cemetery, Dolgeville where she will be laid to rest.
In lieu of floral offerings, expressions of sympathy may be made to Holy Family Parish in Margaret's memory.
