Obituary of Patricia T. Hay

ILION - Patricia "Pat" T. Hay, age 81, of Prindle Apartments, 80 E. North St., Ilion, passed away on Friday, June 14, 2013, at The Abraham House, Utica. She was born on July 14, 1931, in Albany, the daughter of James and Beatrice Swart Taggart. Pat graduated from Broadalbin High School and attended Mildred Elley Business College. On January 17, 1953, she was married to Harold E. Hay in Broadalbin, NY. At one time, she was employed in the snack bar at Nichols in Herkimer. Pat later worked as a ward clerk and in medical transcription at Herkimer Memorial Hospital, retiring in 1989. Survivors include her husband, Harold, Sr.; her children, Kathleen Simons, of Ilion, and Daniel Hay and his wife, Beverly, of Taylor, PA; eleven grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her daughters, Anne Moore and Emily Farrington, and her son, Harold Hay, Jr. Pat's memorial service will be held 3:00 p.m., Friday, June 21, 2013, at the Applegate-Day & Enea Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Rd., Ilion, with Father Paul Catena, Pastor of the Church of the Annunciation, officiating. Visitation will be held Friday from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the memorial service.
