Obituary of Arleen June Wagner

FORT PLAIN- Mrs. Arleen June Wagner, 78, passed away on June 22, 2013 at Little Falls Hospital. She was born on June 20, 1935, in the Town of Palatine, daughter of the late Earl and Verna (Conklin) Stock. Arleen graduated from Fort Plain High School. She worked at Central National Bank in St. Johnsville before being united in marriage with Eugene Wagner at St. John's Reformed Church on November 3, 1956. Arleen and Eugene were best friends. Together they shared over 56 years of a very loving union. Arleen was an active member of numerous organizations including the Women's Christian Association, Home Bureau, Birthday Girls, and the Treasurer of both Fort Klock Historical Society and the Ladies Guild of St. John's Reformed Church where she was also a member of the Consistory. Arleen was generous, caring and compassionate. As a homemaker she especially liked to bake and was well known for her apple pie. She was an avid reader and enjoyed traveling as well as swimming and bowling. She loved small animals, dogs and cats but most of all she adored children, especially her own. She was a dearly loved mother and grandmother. Survivors include her husband Eugene; her children Eugene Jr. and Doris of NY, NY, Dale and Linda of Little Falls, Brian and Rhonda of South Dakota, Judy of St. Johnsville and Heidi of Fort Plain; nine grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; her sister Phyllis and her husband Sidney of Johnstown and many nieces, nephews, cousins and very dear friends. She was predeceased by her brothers Earl, Robert and Ordell. The family will receive relatives and friends from 5-8 pm on Tuesday June 25, 2013 at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 9 Center St., St. Johnsville. A religious service will be held at 11am on Wednesday June 26, 2013 at St. John's Reformed Church in St. Johnsville. Procession will follow to St Johnsville Cemetery where she will be laid to rest. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations in Arleen's name be made to St. John's Reformed Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home and at the church.
