Obituary of Francesca C. Aiello

Francesca (Frances) "Chickie" C. Aiello, 92, a long time resident of Herkimer, passed away peacefully, Sunday August 25, 2013, in the Little Falls Hospital, Little Falls, with her loving family by her side. She was born on February 4, 1921, in Pianopoli, Italy, the daughter of the late Joseph and Maria Stella Fazio Aiello. Chickie was a graduate of Herkimer High School. Chickie dedicated her life to her parents and family with assisting them in the operation of the family own business where she was the produce manager for Aiello's Supermarket in Herkimer. Chickie was a communicant of Sts. Anthony and Joseph Church, Herkimer and was a member of the Crafty Ladies, Herkimer. She was a master at baking and always enjoyed making many different types of cookies for all of her family and friends to enjoy. Chickie was a strong kind hearted woman, a woman before her time and a pillar of her family. Her most joyous times were spending them with her family especially the generations of nieces and nephews whom she treated as her own children. Throughout her life, Chickie loved every one that came into her life and had no problem showing it. Although she has left us, her love and memories will carry on forever in the hearts of her entire family and her many dear friends. She is survived by her siblings and their spouses, Frank and Margaret Aiello of Naples, Fl, Angelina and Antonio Giuliano and James and Concetta Aiello, all of Herkimer; her nieces and nephews and their spouses, Mary Carol and Stephen Brockett of Herkimer, Donna Aiello of Naples, FL, Francine Aiello of Arizona, Frank Aiello, Jr. of Naples, FL, Joseph and Joan Giuliano of Newark, Tina and Scott MacKenzie of Herkimer, Thomas and Kyra Giuliano of New Port Richy, FL, Jonna and Raymond LaMarco of Ballston Spa, Jamie and Donna Aiello of Whitesboro, Thomas and Nancy Aiello of Herkimer, Joseph and Evelyn Aiello of New Hartford, Gary and Romy Aiello of Hewitt, TX, Denise Aiello of Bridgeport, CT, Valerie Aiello and Michael Turner of Taylorsville, KY and Jennifer and Brian Milligan of Naples, FL; her sister-in-law, Bella Aiello of Herkimer; her several great nieces and great nephews; her great great nieces and great great nephew and several cousins. She also leaves her very near and dear friends, George F. Aney and Anthony and Carolyn Belmonte. Chickie was predeceased by her brother, Thomas Aiello and her brother and sister-in-law, Anthony and Sheila Aiello. Chickie's funeral will commence with an offering of a prayer at 8:45 a.m. on Thursday, August 29, 2013 from the chapel of the Enea Family Funeral Home, 220 N. Washington Street, Herkimer and then 9:30 a.m. at Sts. Anthony and Joseph Church, S. Main St, Herkimer, where her Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father Thomas Lawless, Pastor. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Herkimer, where she will be laid to rest in the family plot. Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 220 N. Washington St., Herkimer. The family has asked to kindly consider contributions in Chickie's memory to the George F. Aney Home, Herkimer or Sts. Anthony and Joseph Church, Herkimer.
