Obituary of Patricia Long

LITTLE FALLS: Patricia A. (Pat) Long, 66, a long time Little Falls and St. Johnsville area resident, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, September 8, 2013 at Little Falls Hospital. Born on October 30, 1946, Pat was the daughter of the late Anthony and Katherine (Levi) Carroll. Raised and educated locally she was a graduate of St. Johnsville High School and also attended Cobleskill College. She was united in marriage to Tom Long on September 19, 1970 at St. Patrick's Church in St. Johnsville with whom she shared a wonderful and loving relationship with. Pat worked for many years at Herkimer County BOCES as an account clerk, retiring November 2010. She also held a position at one time for the Little Falls Times and was currently working at Kinney's Drugs of Little Falls and is a current member of the Little Falls Common Council. Pat was an avid bowler and enjoyed the casino and her trips to Atlantic City and the Bahamas with her husband. At home, she was an excellent cook, and was known best for her homemade macaroni. Spending time with her husband, children and grandchildren was most important to her and she will be missed by all. She was a member of the Little Falls American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and for many years was affiliated with the "kitchen crew" at St. Mary's church hall. She was a parishioner of Holy Family Parish. She is survived by her beloved husband, Tom; a son, Tommy Long of Syracuse; a daughter, Meghann Zononi and husband David of Hatfield, MA; her cherished grandchildren, Cameron and Madison Zononi; her brother, James Carroll and wife Mary Ann of Utica; a sister, Joan Sargeant and husband Lawrence of Little Falls; her in-laws, Bob Long, Maryanne and Tony Rich, Cheryl Long, Joe and Kathy Long and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a brother-in-law, Richard Long. In lieu of floral arrangements, expressions of sympathy may be made to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society; envelopes will be available at the funeral home. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 24 W. Monroe Street, Little Falls (315) 823-2424, from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Friday, September 13, 2013. Her funeral service will commence on Saturday, September 14, 2013 at 10:15 a.m. from the funeral home and at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Family Parish, corner of John /E. Main Sts. Little Falls, where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated by Father Thomas Lawless, Pastor. Procession will then follow to St. Mary's Cemetery, Town of Herkimer, where she will be laid to rest. Members of the Little Falls American Legion Ladies Auxiliary are asked to meet at the funeral home at 6:30 p.m. for a service. The family is being cared for by Harry J. Enea, Funeral Director.
