Obituary of Irving Boyer

Mr. Irving E. "Junior" Boyer 77 of 425 Bingham Mills Road Stratford (Town of Salisbury) died Thursday evening September 12, 2013 at his residence after an extended illness. He was comforted with the love and support of his wife and family at the time of his passing. He was born in Salisbury center, on February 11, 1936 the son of the late Irving and Maggie (Walrath) Boyer Sr. and attended Dolgeville and Stratford schools. His marriage to Carol Slater took place on July 8th, 1961 in the Presbyterian Church in Dolgeville, the ceremony was performed by Rev. Percy dolling Pastor. Junior as he was known, was employed as a heavy equipment operator in construction for many years retiring in 1978 due to his health. He was last employed by Howard Darling Logging. He was also known as Mr. Fix It with small engine repairs at his home. He personally enjoyed camping with his family and he loved animals especially his dogs. He was a member of the Curtis Cornerstone Chapel in Salisbury. Surviving is his wife Carol of 52 years, his Sons and their wives Jeffery & Tammy Boyer of California, Brian & Tessa Boyer of Salisbury, Daniel & Donna Boyer of Stratford, Gregg & Rebecca Boyer of Lake Pleasant, A Daughter & her husband Pam & Doug Vedder of Stratford,17 Grandchildren 20 Great Grandchildren a special Great Granddaughter Destiny Daley a Brother in law Herbert Rockwell of Ilion, A Sister in law Beverly Harrigan of West Winfield. He was predeceased by his Brothers Leroy, Howard and Kenneth and his sisters Beatrice Daley and Lillian Boyer. Also there are several Nieces and Nephews. Funeral services will be held Sunday September 15th, 2013 at 4 PM at the Curtis Cornerstone Chapel with Rodney Congdon officiating. Burial will follow in the Stratford Cemetery. Friends may call on Sunday from 2PM until the time of the service at 4PM at the Church. Memorials in his name may be sent to Hospice 4277 Middle Settlement Road New Hartford, NY 13413. Envelopes will be available at the services. His arrangements are entrusted to Brian A. Roberts of the Roberts & Enea Funeral Home 3 Faville Avenue Dolgeville.
