Obituary of Pauline Barringer

Ilion-Mohawk: Pauline B. Barringer, 68, a lifelong Mohawk Valley resident, passed away on Saturday, September 21, 2013 at the home of her daughter Debbie's, with the love and support of her family at her side. Born in Ilion, NY on October 5, 1944, Pauline was the daughter of the late Richard and Mildred (Darling) Dallas. She was educated in Mohawk Schools and on May 19, 1979 she was united in marriage to Kenneth Barringer in Clayton, NY; the couple sharing 29 years of love and commitment toward one another until his passing on April 1, 2008. Pauline was formerly employed at the HARC as a sewing machine operator. She also worked for many years at Duofold in Ilion and LaSalle Labs in Little Falls. As a loving and very family-oriented mother, grandmother and great grandmother, she enjoyed a special bond with her family and friends. In her spare time she loved tending to her garden, playing cards, reading, going to the casino and camping with her family. She is survived by a son, Daniel Horning and wife Lori of Frankfort; her daughters, Diane Cable and husband Richard of Connecticut, Debbie Keeler and husband John of Mohawk, Laurie Salamone and fiancée Jason Zahniser of Frankfort, Melissa Trapp of Colorado and Joni McGee of Texas; her beloved grandchildren, Tanya Elthorp and husband Anthony, Kari English and husband Eric, Tracy Keeler and fiancée Bryan Herringshaw, Sam, Adam and Grace Salamone, Rachel, Rosanna, Bucky and Ryan Cable, Danny III, David, Stacy and Darrell Horning, Casey, Nicole, Samantha and T.J., Danny, Derrick and Jessica Harcourt; her cherished great grandchildren, John and Lydia Elthorp, Alexis and Colton English; her brother, Richard Dallas and wife Joanne of Dolgeville; her in-laws, Janet and John Kucerak and Carl Dennis; two very special friends, Kitty DeGrossieler and Cissy Rando and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her sister, Gwen Dennis. In lieu of floral offerings, expressions of sympathy in the form of donations may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care in Pauline's memory; envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Friends and relatives are invited to pay their respects on Tuesday, September 24, 2013 from 5-7 p.m. at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Road, Ilion, NY (Town of Frankfort) (315)894-8000. Pauline's funeral service will take place immediately following calling hours at 7:00 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home with Pastor Hans Drews, officiating. Interment will take place privately at the convenience of the family. The family is being cared for by Harry J. Enea, Funeral Director.
