Obituary of Jane Talarico

MOHAWK - Jane M. (Adams) Talarico was born in Herkimer, NY on October 8, 1941. She passed away on Wednesday morning October 9, 2013 in Utica, NY. She was the daughter of Charles Adams and Harriet Orendorf Adams - Konick. She was preceded in death by her parents along with her brother Charles "Bo" Adams, Jr. and a brother in law Leonard Jacopelle, Sr. Jane was united in marriage with John S. Talarico on April 11, 1959 at St. Francis de Sales Church in Herkimer with Fr. Santos officiating. The couple had shared in a blessed union of over 54 years of marriage. Jane so much enjoyed being with her family. It was her greatest pleasure in life, especially to be in the presence of her grandchildren. Jane particularly enjoyed crafts and bird-watching, along with gardening. Her family recalled that Jane would relax with a few hours of mowing the lawn on the riding lawn mower. Her loving husband John, Sr. resides at the family home in Mohawk and children include her daughter: Tracy Soules and her husband Mitchell of Mohawk; her sons: John S. Talarico, Jr. and his wife Colleen of Rochester; and Michael A. Talarico and his wife Dalana of North Dakota; her grandchildren: James R. Holt, Jr. and his wife Tara, Tara Abbott and her husband Andrew, Mitchell Soules, Jr., John S. Talarico, III and his wife Jennifer, Nicholas Talarico, Joseph Talarico, and Ryan Talarico; three great grandchildren: Tyler and Colton Abbott and James Robert Holt, III; a sister: Jean Jacopelle of Herkimer; a sister in law: Pat Adams of Columbia Center, and a brother in law and his wife: Frank J. Talarico and his wife Donna of Herkimer, along with nieces and nephews. Jane was educated in Herkimer schools and was a Graduate of Herkimer High School. She went on to attend Mohawk Valley Community College with an interest in retail classes. She last worked as a lunch manager with Herkimer High School. At one time she was employed with Van Heusen Menswear at the former Charlestown Mall factory in Utica where she assisted as a manager of the retail store. She had many special friends and acquaintances. She was a member of the Church of Sts. Anthony & Joseph in Herkimer , and enjoyed various activities throughout the community. Her memberships included the former Herkimer Hospital Guild, the Herkimer Garden Club, and the Red Hat Society. She spent time as a volunteer with Little Falls Hospital and especially enjoyed her volunteer work with the Peacemaker Program, Inc. of Utica. She also was a Girl Scout Troop Leader. A prayer service will be conducted by Deacon James Bower on Friday October 11, 2013 at 10:00 AM from the Enea Family Funeral Home, 220 North Washington Street, Herkimer.
