Ilion: Mrs. Mary Anne Barnum, 62, of W. Prospect Street, passed away in the comfort of her home, with her loving family by her side, on October 10, 2013. Mary Anne was born in Ilion on July 13, 1951, a daughter of the late Charles and Beverly (Murphy) DeLong. She was a lifelong Ilion resident, and received her education in Ilion Schools, graduating with the class of 1969. On July 10, 1971, she and John H. Barnum were married in the Ilion United Methodist Church. They shared 42 years of devoted commitment to each other. Mary Anne was employed as a secretary at Midtown Wings and Wheels in Ilion. Mary Anne derived her greatest pleasure from her family and home. She was a member of the Mohawk and Ilion American Legions and enjoyed her part-time bar tending job at both. She is survived by her devoted husband, John; her loving children: Malinda Lynch and her husband Ed of Ilion, Vicki Cusworth and her husband Dan of Mohawk, and Debra Dooley and Patrick Dooley of Ilion. She adored her grandchildren: Bryon and Jacob Lynch, Johna Cusworth, and Heylee and Hayden Dooley. She also leaves her siblings: Charles DeLong of Little Falls, Barbara Weeks and her husband John of Mohawk, Tom DeLong and his wife Marianne of North Carolina, Cathy Wiggins and her husband Terry of Mohawk, Susan Guyer and her husband Loren of Ilion, and Melissa Diehl of West Winfield; along with her in-laws: Paul and Barbara Barnum of Arizona, Tom and Sherry Panko, and Mike and Bernadette Mundorff of Mohawk; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends. She was predeceased by her parents and a brother, James DeLong. Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects on Thursday, October 17, 2013 from 5:00 until 9:00 PM at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Road, Ilion (town of Frankfort) 894-8000.
