Obituary of Theresa Torcia

HERKIMER: Theresa Torcia, Herkimer, NY, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother died peacefully on October 24, 2013. Born April 29, 1915, Theresa was the daughter of the late Americo and Clementina (Servadio) Manieri. Theresa married her loving husband Michael Torcia at St. Anthony's Church, Herkimer, NY in 1937. A local chef, Michael passed away in 1991. Theresa's family and friends will remember her as loving, kind, compassionate, and caring, but especially as a peace-maker. She was predeceased by brothers Dominick and Alfred Manieri. She is survived by her three daughters, Frances Casullo, Tina Torcia and Carolyn Torcia; one sister, Louise Celio; her grandchildren, Michael (Glenna) Casullo, Patricia (Gale) Stovall, Teresa (Daniel) Casullo-Mussman; her great grandchildren, Ashley (Paul) Cooke, Jr., Patricia Casullo, Nicholas Stovall, Benjamin Stovall, Nathaniel Mussman; and a great great grandchild, Kason Cooke. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 27, 2013 from 2:00-5:00 p.m. at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 220 N. Washington Street, Herkimer, NY (315) 866-1011. Her funeral service will commence at 8:45 a.m. on Monday, October 28, 2013, from the chapel of the funeral home where a prayer service will take place, and at 9:30 a.m. from Sts. Anthony and Joseph Church, S. Main Street, Herkimer, NY where her Funeral Mass will be offered by Reverend Thomas Lawless, Pastor. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Herkimer, where she will be laid to rest. In lieu of floral arrangements, those wishing to remember Theresa may do so by making a donation to the Herkimer-Mohawk Food Pantry or Sts. Anthony & Joseph Church; envelopes will be available at the funeral home. The family is being cared for by Harry J. Enea, Funeral Director.
