Obituary of Katherine Kramer

LITTLE FALLS: Katherine A. Kramer, 93, of Route 5S, Mohawk, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 5, 2013 at Valley Health Services, Herkimer. Katie was born on July 3, 1920, the daughter of the late Peter and Christina (Styranich) Bayzon in Frankfort Hill, NY. Raised and educated locally, she was a graduate of Van Hornsville High School. She grew up on the family farm in the Squawk area of Van Hornsville, NY and in 1938 graduated from Van Hornsville Central School. On October 14, 1950, she married Joseph Kramer of Little Falls at St. Mary's Parish, Little Falls. The couple built their home on Route 5S in the Jacksonburg Area of Mohawk, NY. Joey passed away on July 19, 2010. Katie was last employed at Salada Tea in Little Falls, retiring to become caretaker of her father, Peter. She was able to enjoy many school reunions with her classmates from Van Hornsville and reunions with friends and co-workers from Salada Tea. Both gatherings she treasured. She is survived by nieces, Barbara Duesler of St. Johnsville, Carole Park of Connecticut, Katherine Park of Rochester; nephews, Charles Witkowski, Jr. of Sprakers, Ronald Bayzon of Richfield Springs, Rodney Whalen of South Carolina and Patrick Whalen of Ilion. She is also survived by her sister-in-law and husband, Marge and Bob Lonis of Little Falls and brother-in-law, Charles Witkowski, Sr. of Stone Arabia; Joey's nieces and nephews, Maryjo Carrig, Linda Skibinski, Sandy Lonis, Frank Schwasnick and Gary Schwasnick. Katherine was predeceased by her sisters, Helen Whalen, Mary Park and Rose Witkowski; her brothers, John and Stanley Bayzon and a nephew, David Whalen. Many thanks to the staff of Valley Health Services for the kindness shown to our aunt during her time spent there. Reverend Thomas Lawless, Pastor of Holy Family Parish, will conduct Katherine's funeral service at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 24 W.
