Obituary of Rose Mary Myers

FRANKFORT - Mrs. Rose Mary (Cacciatore) Myers, age 66, passed into the Arms of her Lord and Savior on Sunday morning November 24, 2013 at the Siegenthaler Center in New Hartford, NY. As was always the case in life, Rose Mary's loving and devoted husband, Dick, was at her side continuously and at the time of her passing. Enough cannot be said about Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc. and the sense of comfort they bestowed upon Rose Mary. Dick is very grateful for everything they have done during this time. She was born on September 14, 1947 in Ilion, NY, a daughter of the late John and Mary (Manno) Cacciatore. She was a graduate of Frankfort - Schuyler High School, "Class of 1965." Rose Mary furthered her education, having gone on to attend and graduate from State University College at Oswego and State University College at Cortland. Her educational accomplishments rewarded her with Bachelor's (B.A.) and Master's (M.A.) degrees in education. Rose Mary spent her working career doing what she truly loved and was passionate for. She taught second and third grade at Herkimer Central School for 32 years, retiring in 2002. Rose Mary thoroughly enjoyed her years of retirement with her husband, Richard J. Myers. The couple joined in marriage on February 9, 1974 in Frankfort, NY. Rose Mary would be the first to tell us what a blessing it was to have her devoted husband at her side. Rose Mary was a lifelong member of Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church in Frankfort. She had a deep faith and trust in God. Together, Rose Mary and her husband owned and operated Gorge View Bowling Lanes in Little Falls for several years. They met and appreciated many cherished friends along the way. Surviving family include her soul mate and confidant of nearly 40 years: Richard J. "Dick" Myers at home; one brother and sister in law: Joseph and Lynda Cacciatore of Wappinger Falls, NY; nieces and nephews whom she dearly loved: Lorie and husband Roy Gates of North Carolina; Jon A. Riddell, II and his wife Debbie of Florida; Catherine Cacciatore, Peter Cacciatore and Mary Elise Cacciatore all of Wappinger Falls; great nieces and nephew Amanda and Jessica Gates and Ashley and her husband Patrick Satkunas, all of North Carolina; and Jon Anthony Riddell, III of Florida; a sister in law and brother in law: Mary Ann and James Childs of Mohawk; along with several cousins and many special friends. She was preceded in death by her sister, Vincie Riddell of Florida in 2007. Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Road, Town of Frankfort, Ilion, NY from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM on Monday, November 25, 2013. At 10:30 AM, the cortege will arrive at Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church, South Frankfort Street, Frankfort, where her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Reverend Paul Catena, Pastor.
