Obituary of Lennetta Cook

St. Johnsville: Mrs. Lennetta W. Cook, 88, of St. Johnsville, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, November 29, 2013 in Abington-Lansdale Hospital, Lansdale, PA, with her loving family by her side. She was born on June 2, 1925 in St. Johnsville, the daughter of the late Frank and Laura (Kretser) Wick, and attended Fort Plain High School. On January 5, 1946 she was united in marriage to Stewart J. Cook in Fort Plain. Mrs. Cook was last employed at the Little Falls Footwear. Lennetta was a member of the Grace Congregational United Church of Christ. Survivors include two sons: S. James Cook and his wife Linda of Mays Landing, NJ and Scott J. Cook of St. Johnsville, NY and a daughter Sherry Harris and her husband Bruce of Harleysville, PA; seven grandchildren: Jason Cook and his wife Christina, Matthew Cook, Robert Cook, Theodore Cook, Kimberly Harris, Christina Harris and Carrie Harris; along with many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews and great-great nieces and nephews and cousins. She was pre-deceased by her husband, Stewart, and her sisters, Monica Loyche and Waona Sutton. In her youth, she enjoyed working with her parents on the farm and loved animals, especially riding horses. She had been a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and served as a Cub Scout Den Mother. She was devoted to her family and valued their times together. She faithfully read passages from the Holy Bible and other spiritual devotionals. Her faith in Jesus Christ sustained her throughout her life and served as an example to her children, grandchildren, and others. She had a gentle spirit and was a pillar of strength to her family. Visitation will be on Wednesday, December 4, 2013 from 5:00 until 8:00 PM at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 9 Center Street, St. Johnsville. Funeral services will be conducted by the Reverend David Johnson at 11 AM on Thursday, December 5, 2013 at the funeral home. Interment will be in St. Johnsville Cemetery in the spring.
