Obituary of Frances Angelichio

ILION: Frances A. "Ma" Angelichio, 90, a longtime Ilion resident, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center with the love and support of her family. Born in Frankfort, NY on April 6, 1923, Frances was the daughter of the late Jerola and Vincenza (Micci) Licari. Raised and educated locally, she attended Frankfort Schools and on April 25, 1942 she married Vito Angelichio in St. Mary's Church, Frankfort with whom she shared 51 years of a wonderful and loving relationship filled with great affection and admiration. Vito passed away on November 24, 1993. Frances was last employed by MDS and was formerly employed by UNIVAC. She found comfort and devotion in the Catholic faith and was a communicant of Annunciation Church, Ilion and the Young at Heart Senior Citizens of Frankfort. Always a family-oriented individual, Frances was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. One of the most important ways that "Ma" showed her generosity was through the numerous wonderful meals that she put on the table for her entire family to enjoy, especially her meatballs and pizza. In her leisure time she enjoyed gardening and spending time with her chocolate lab, Coco. Frances is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Gerald and Karen Angelichio of Ilion; her daughter-in-law, Donna Angelichio of Ilion; her beloved grandchildren, Gerald C. Angelichio and wife Jill, Brian Angelichio, Valarie Day and husband Ryan, Michael Angelichio and wife Liz, Ronnie Angelichio, Joe Laura and wife Stacie; seven cherished great grandchildren; her sisters, Mary LaMonica and Carolyn Amendolare and husband Alfred of Frankfort; sisters-in-law, Helen Licari, Rose Nobles, Louise Gardinier, Donna Aceto and husband Mike and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her son, Dr. Anthony Angelichio; her grandson, Anthony Angelichio; her granddaughter, Jamie Carter; her daughter-in-law, Jean Angelichio; her brothers, Jerry and John Licari and her sisters, Rose Rizzo, Josephine Rolchigo and Florence Licari. The family would like to thank the staff at the Masonic Home for all their care and kindness given to Frances over the last few years. In lieu of floral arrangements, kindly consider memorial offerings to Annunciation Church; envelopes will be available at the funeral home. The family will receive friends and relatives at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Road, Ilion, NY (315)894-8000 (Town of Frankfort) on Saturday, December 7, 2013 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at Annunciation Church, West Street, Ilion, NY, where the Reverend Paul Catena, assisted by Deacon James Bower will celebrate her Mass of Christian Burial. Procession will then follow to Armory Hill Cemetery, Ilion, where entombment will take place. The Frankfort Young at Heart Senior Citizens will gather at the funeral home at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday for a service.
