Obituary of Dorothy E Trombley

Mohawk/Ilion: Dorothy E. Trombley, 92, a lifelong Mohawk and Ilion resident, passed away on December 9, 2013 in Valley Health Services, Herkimer. Dorothy was born on January 25, 1921 in Ilion, a daughter of the late Edward and Jessie (Foster) Cosman. She was a graduate of Ilion High School. At one time, she was married to Everett Trombley. In her earlier years, she worked at Sperry Rand Co., Ilion; then she worked as a sales clerk for the former W.T. Grant Co., also in Ilion, and Nichols and K Mart of Herkimer. Dorothy was a former member of the Ilion Presbyterian Church and currently is a congregant of Assembly of God Church in Little Falls. She was a very caring person, and took care of many local families. She was a former member of the Mohawk American Legion Auxiliary. Dorothy is survived by two daughters: Sandy and her husband Edward Carcione of Herkimer, and Sharron and her husband Michael Ferrara of New York Mills; two sons: Thomas and his wife Margot Trombley of Florida, and Everett and wife Amelia Trombley of Ilion; six grandchildren: Lisa and Steve Thomopoulis of Florida, Kevin Trombley, also of Florida, Laurie Ferrara and Lynne Ferrara of New York Mills, Rebecca and Darren Simonds of Little Falls, and Michael Carcione of Herkimer, who is currently serving in the US Navy; four great-grandchildren: Cassandra, Allisandra, and Miranda Thomopoulis, Benjamin Carcione, and Kaden Simonds; along with several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Stephen Trombley, and brothers, Edward and Robert Cosman, and an infant brother, Walter Henry Cosman. The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, December 12, 2013 from 6:00 until 7:00 PM at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 220 N. Washington Street, Herkimer. Pastor Joseph Chamberlin from Little Falls Assembly of God Church, will conduct Dorothy's funeral service at the funeral parlor at 7:00 PM. Burial will take place in the spring in Mohawk Cemetery.
