ILION - Dorothy H. Whitbeck, age 89, of Old Forge Road, Ilion, NY passed away unexpectedly on Friday evening January 3, 2014 at Faxton - St. Luke's Healthcare, Town of New Hartford, NY. Born in Ft. Plain, NY on April 8, 1924, Dorothy was the daughter of the late Everett and Winona (Fisk) Nichols, Sr. She was educated in Ft. Plain Schools and worked for many years as a crossing guard in Ilion. She is survived by a son, Herman Ward, Jr. of Ilion, a daughter Winona Reed and husband Steven of Ilion; her grandchildren, Christopher Farr and his fiancé Nicole Rockwood and Jasmine Reed; her great grandchildren, Summer, Alexis, Cheyenne and Brianna Farr; a brother, Everett Nichols of Florida and a niece, Kayla Nichols.
